Cybergoth Era- Add Colour to Darkness

The Cybergoth trend is taking over and #cyberdog are here to help!
Cybergoth is a word that is being used more and more throughout society today. Indie, alternative and all those genres are things of the past. 2016 is all about celebrating our goth and raver communities. With the weather in England being the way it is, it is no wonder that people want to add colour to these darker days. Ravers and goths have come together to build the Cybergoth subculture that is now invading our world. At Cyberdog we’ve embraced these two fashion worlds coming together. Our Future Noir, Camden Originals, Cybercore and House of Neon lines are all about providing for our fellow “gravers”.
Introduced in 1988, worn in 1999
The word cybergoth started because of roleplaying games that were introduced in 1988. It only became an identity in the late 90’s. With the 80’s and 90’s welcoming ravers, goth fashion had to get involved. Combining elements of goth and rave fashion it is not a surprise that the word “graver” started being used more often. London and New York Fashion came together to build one style linking the British Raver with the NYC Club Kid theme. In time, goths started wearing goggles, neon accessories and of course black clothes. Platforms, PVC, gas masks and a variety of other accessories became fashion statements.
Music to Make your Inner Cybergoth Smile
It’s not just about fashion! Cybergoth music also took a turn towards awesomeness. Techno, Drum and Bass, Acid Trance, Dubstep and Dance all followed with a bang. Music and the videos that came with it changed for the good and it hasn’t stopped yet. This January, Grimes’s music video for “Kill V. Maim” was described as able to “make the Cybergoth Inside you smile” by The Muse. She embraces her graver within and has made an insane video to show for it!
Gaming isn’t far behind! In 2015, Klang blended Cybergoth and electro dance music and turned into a sick rhythm platform. Gaming took a turn to the future. Old school rave, new school goth, gamers and sci fi enthusiasts must have gone insane! Not only did Klang design a game that is awesome but he’s used tunes created by -bLiNd- which can only be an added bonus. If you’re in Texas in March you can’t miss SXSW.
Cybergoth- a Growing Fashion Trend
From a fashion point of view, people say that the famous David Bowie (may he rest in peace) was one of the main inspirations. Black clothing is a key aspect to the Cybergoth style (hence the word goth). But, it’s been accessorised with all sorts of different pieces. Shiny materials, bright jewellery and hair, and of course, awesome statement pieces, you name it, they wear it. Make up has also changed. It’s all about the neon pinks, greens, blues etc. Cyberdog are one of the leading brands that specialise in Cybergoth clothing. We are all about dancing, raving, bright colours and all things relating to futuristic fashion. With three stores across the UK and one store in our European party paradise Ibiza, it is no wonder we are representing!
